Issue

continually blocked sewer service stemming from an old manhole servicing the back of the shops
drain had blocked several times in several months with the dance studio at risk of flooding
manhole is one of the oldest in Caloundra and is situated at the back of shops in Bullcock street
came from a recommendation from another plumbing company that had used us in the past
poor access to manhole as it only had a 400×400 opening
dance studio main entrance was adjacent manhole so safety was a priority.

Solution

commenced work before shops and studio opened – manhole cleaned and ready for Xypex bedding replacement
first coat of wall builder applied including resealing of pipe channel
manhole covered to allow studio to open for morning session – second coat applied straight after session starts
access gained again after session finished to apply sealing coat and recommission manhole
large savings in refurbishing manhole compared to replacement along with potential lengthy disruptions to shops and studio access.
